MAKING A CLAIM
Making a claim on behalf of a child
We will need to show that someone was to blame or partly to blame and it is always worth seeking specialist advice particularly in relation to children even if you think they may be at fault. We will then need to show that the accident has caused your child’s injuries and subsequent problems before we then go on to value your claim. The process requires an efficient and focused approach. We will discuss your child’s case with your in detail with a sensitive and supportive approach. We will take statements and obtain the necessary records and should we be unable to settle your case immediately we can bring formal Court proceedings to increase the pressure on the Defendant and if necessary take your child’s claim to trial. All settlements on behalf of children need to be approved by the Court and so after we have agreed terms of settlement we need to apply to the Court to formally approve the settlement.
How much compensation will I receive?
We can give you a good idea of the likely range of compensation you will receive when we first talk to you. Once we have investigated your child’s case and can fully assess the effects of his or her injury we can prepare a detailed valuation of the claim. Find out more
