Product liability claims - How safe are your Christmas Toys?
The Channel 4 Programme “Dispatches” aired on Monday 17 December 2007 a week before Christmas entitled "How safe are your Christmas Toys” raised interesting issues concerning product liability claims for personal injuries following the purchase of dangerous or substandard articles including toys.
As consumers, we expect that quality standard levels will ensure that the goods we buy are safe. This is not always the case however and especially when goods are routinely imported from abroad where it is often more difficult to regulate quality control.
If you have an accident and suffer personal injury due to a defective product you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
We have dealt with a wide range of compensation claims against retailers and manufacturers following injury as a result of defects in the manufacturing process or the unsuitable or dangerous nature of the article itself.
